This should be made into a movie! What a great story. As well written as "A River Runs Through It," maybe better. Thank you Dennis for writing this and spending what must have been a long time in editing to make it flow so smoothly. The retrospects from the people you met along the way are a great addition. Anyone thinking about writing about life's adventures should read this book before they do. And those not yet sure, keep a journal!
Terrific armchair adventure, told with great good humor. Bought it because it's similar to Eric Sevareid's book--which they reference in the first chapter. The stuff at the end where people they met on their journey recall them decades later, was especially welcome.
If you would love - taking a 2 month trip in a canoe leaving from Minnesota traveling through the Canadian wilderness - getting wet - surviving on the land - making some wonderful memories - all the while enjoying the ride from the comfort of your easy chair without getting your feet wet - this is your story. You just might wish it was your own!

This book is just a little gem of a story, surprisingly well written and entertaining.
