So, I'm pretty sure that after the success of 'Goodnight Moon', Margret Wise Brown's publishers pushed her and her illustrator to collaborate for a sequel.I don't care how often you've read 'Goodnight Moon' to your toddler.I don't care if you've memorized every blessed word and have motions and sound affects to go along with it.I know you're looking to mix up bedtime but, don't buy this book.For some sick reason, your toddler will love it.Trust me, you will not.The same formula is there, little bunny? Check. Brothel house colors and decorations? Check. Words on two pages, pictures on others? Check. Rhyming? Check.This book is wrong. The story is off. The pictures and words demand heads be slammed into walls. Rabbits eat fish. The rhyming is over simplified. I wish someone would have warned me with an honest review before I purchased this book; just don't.

My 1yo son absolutely loves Goodnight Moon, and brings the book to me throughout the day for multiple readings. I was so excited to learn there was a companion book!Before purchasing, I read poor reviews annoyed that this did not rhyme. I scoffed, sure that the book must retain at least some of its predecessor's charm. I was so wrong. The problem is not that it doesn't rhyme, but that there is no rhythm at all. In fact it seems crafted with the sole purpose of being as jarring and awkward as possible. In most children's books, the obvious repetition has a soothing effect; here it calls to mind the addled ramblings of an unwell mind. If I had to leave a one-word review: unpleasant.Also my son didn't like it and refused to stay for readings. He has good taste!

I can't explain why my 2-year-old loves this book so much, but he does. We've borrowed it from the library so many times over the last year we finally just got him his own copy for Christmas. When we have it from the library, it's the only thing he wants to read. When we have to give it back, he talks about it and repeats snippets to himself from memory.I thought it was an odd book at first -- so different from what I was expecting, I suppose -- but I have come to enjoy it very much myself. Another reviewer said it grows on you and I agree with that. It is a gentle, calm world, full of the kind of observations a child would make, expressed in the way a child would express them. It has also generated a lot of fruitful bedtime conversations with my son -- about family relationships, about the rhythms of the day, about "the way things used to be."I'm happy to be adding this to our permanent collection and I know my son will be, too.

Like just about everyone who purchased this book, we ordered it because my daughter absolutely LOVES Goodnight Moon. This book was just strange. It just kind of goes through and compares "my" things to Mommy and Daddy's things.I hated it the first time I ready it, but it has started to grow on me. My daughter doesn't mind it and will sit through it, but I think that's only because the illustration is so familiar. When she sees specific things that were also in Goodnight Moon, she tells them goodnight and quotes from the other book,I wouldn't buy this on again.....EDIT: I'm upping my review from 2 to 4 starts. My daughter now refuses to read Goodnight Moon without following it up with My World.

I grew up with Goodnight Moon, and thought this would be a good addition to my childrens’ book collection. I found the story kind of boring. There wasn’t a good flow to it like Goodnight Moon, more like just stating things like “dad’s car” and “my car.” My kids will sit and listen (well, as best as 14 month olds will sit and listen) to it, they aren’t really excited about it like other books we read- they are currently obsessed with lift-flap books and David Carter’s bug books.

My child and I haven't read this in a while. We would read it around the time she started talking and pointing things in the book out like the baby, the car, the dog. It was an awkward read the first couple of times since it is from the perspective of the toddler/baby. Given that information it is a book to have in the child's collection.

This is an adorable book to add to your collectiom. The poetic flow and colorful illustrations really keep my baby boy engaged! The pages switch between bright colors and black and white! This has become one of our go tos!

No offense to the late Mrs Brown but this is no Goodnight Moon. It's fine for a one year old as they really just want to hear you talk, but this is frustrating with the flow.

It's not creative. It doesn't make sense. And it doesn't rhyme. Nothing like "Goodnight Moon."

I found this book while browsing Barnes and Noble and knew automatically I was going to love it. The cover had me hooked. The minute I bought it I could not put it down. This is a heartwarming tale of love, family, and of course puppies.After Josh Michaels loses his Ex to another man and lays around depressed, he gets a call from a "friend" who wants to drop his dog off. Though reluctant, Josh accepts the dog and begins to worry about her pregnancy. During a conference call, his new dog, Lucy, goes into labor and he rushes her off to the vet, worried about her and her puppies. After the visit to the vet and receiving a litter of 5 puppies, Josh begins to rebuild his life, now revolving around the 6 dogs he has. After a call to the local animal shelter, he meets, and falls in love with Kerri, the woman who runs the animal shelter. She is eager to give these new puppies a forever home and bring joy to other families. But as time gets closer for Josh to give up the puppies, he thinks of his own family and is struck with the feeling of not being able to give up his new dogs.I particularly love the sentiment in this book. While at first Josh was reluctant to foster Lucy and then the puppies when she gave birth, after spending some time with them, he grew to love them and though he lost his own family, he gained a whole new canine one. Though Josh is a bit of a recluse and hard to like, I love his connection to the dogs and how he feels he can't send them off to other families. Though it felt like most of this book revolved around his pursuit of Kerri, it lent itself to the story because it gave Josh an inner conflict: does he choose to push her away and keep the dogs, or win her heart and do as she wants? That small romantic twist added suspense to the book because while Josh wanted to be with her, he wanted to have his dogs, which made him whole again.There are a host of small themes throughout the book, which I love how each of them interconnect. I will definitely recommend this book to all dog lovers, puppy lovers, holiday enthusiasts, and any one who just loves a good heartwarming book.

I didn't read the book. I bought it for my granddaughter, a sixth grader, at her request. She had read 3 of the Cameron dog stories and loved them. She enjoyed this one and another I bought for her just as well. I don't consider her a "big reader'" so I was thrilled that these books captivated her so much. I don't have her near to get her input on the review of this book, so I marked "some twists" just so I could comment. I would definitely recommend the Bruce Cameron dog stories to middle school readers.

I have been reading all the dog books by this author, including "A Dog's Purpose" which was made into a movie. I enjoyed this one as much as the others. It is a shorter book, a quick read, and really a feel-good book. I recommend it to every dog person!

And I cried when author W. Bruce Cameron pulled at my heartstrings. If you have an animal enthusiast on your Christmas list~~this book would be a lovely gift.✰✰✰✰✰

I almost didn’t finish the book. The characters in the book acted like junior high students instead of the adults they were supposed to be. Lonely, helpless and unable to deal with reality. Who keeps their mother’s stove that doesn’t work, just because she once cooked on it? The only reason I am able to give this two stars is because of the puppies. Probably would have been better if it was told from the point of view of one of the puppies.

I wish I had six stars to choose from. Mr. Cameron has written several books from the perspective of dogs which will touch your heart and make you feel alive and loved. This book is written from the perspective of a human being who is schooled well by the dogs who he cares for and who he falls in love with. Tender, loving, and a reminder of all that is important in the world.

I thought this might be a flimsy Christmas romance, but instead found myself enjoying this book way more than I expected. The puppies really stole the show for me, and while I think the characters could have been a little more well-developed, and the ending was a bit predictable, it was a fun story with parts that were moving. It's one of the better holiday romance novels I've read.

Bruce campbell is my son's favorite author. He's loved reading Bailey, Max, and all the other puppy stories but this one he just couldn't get into as much. He said it wasn't as good as the others.However, I will not rank below a 4 because the puppy stories are so amazing for having gotten my son to love reading!

A very steamy, panty melting novella. Luc and Mila's chemistry is off the chart. Mila underestimated Luc's position, abilities and the darkness within. She soon learns who he truly is and what that means for her.

This little novella packs quite a wallop! It is dark ( Luc can be very harsh) . It is dirty ( the sex scenes were extremely steamy). It is a novella so you get to the good stuff fairly quick but with a well developed storyline so I didn't feel like I was missing part of the story. In short I think it is a naughty little read perfect for anytime.
